The Initiate! Young Talent programme strives to connect these bright and eager minds with the industry in an effort to spark debate and enable collaboration between them and the more established industry professionals. The launch of the Initiate! Young Talent Programme at Asian Utility Week gives the chance to the next generation leaders to connect to the industry and learn first-hand from their peers and the professionals in the field, walking away with industry ideas and knowledge that they can put to use right away.

As part of the Young Talent programme we are offering students and young professionals (<35) working at utilities the opportunity to register for a free Premium Pass. In return we ask you to actively contribute to the programme and participate in the in focus groups or panel discussions.

Beer Opatsuwan

Beer Opatsuwan is a chartered professional electrical engineer currently working for Energex, an electricity distribution utility based in Queensland, Australia. Beer graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and holds a Post-graduate Certificate in Electricity Supply Engineering from Queensland University of Technology. Beer has a multi-dimensional portfolio of work experience through national and international projects. He has held a numerous roles at Energex in a broad field of innovative asset management. He received the Queensland Young Engineer of the Year Award in 2015 and has been named one of Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers in 2016.  Beer is an active committee member on not-for-profit engineering organisations. He aspires to become a global energy game changer and hoping to inspire the next generation to fulfil their potential.
